What’s new in 1.1.2

More accurate quantities. Safer saving.

A free update for every 1.x licence. Choose Help › Check for Updates in the app, or download it below.

01

More accurate quantities

  • Calibrating one sheet changes only that sheet, so mixed scales stay right.
  • Changing units converts depth, rise and drop, so volumes keep their true size.
  • Legends subtract deductions, match the Markups List, and their text is readable again.
  • Resize Pages keeps every measurement true.
02

Safer saving

  • Closing with unsaved changes asks Save, Don’t Save or Cancel.
  • Autosave keeps a recovery copy. Your file only changes when you save.
  • The same PDF can’t be open twice, and separate windows are autosaved too.
  • Signed drawings are never rewritten just to add markups.
03

Works with Bluebeam and Acrobat

  • Markups from Bluebeam Revu and Acrobat show up and can be edited.
  • Saved markups go into the PDF, so others see them in Bluebeam, Acrobat or Preview.
  • New Check Takeoff and Verify Scale catch costly mistakes before quantities go out.

Takeoff

Areas, lengths and counts at the drawing’s real scale.

Calibrate from a known dimension or pick the printed scale, then trace. Every room, wall run and fitting lands in the Markups List with its quantity, ready to group, total and export.

Scale per sheet
Calibrate one sheet without disturbing the rest. Separate X and Y when a scan is stretched.
Deductions done right
Cutouts take away only what is inside the area, once.
Volumes and walls
Depth, rise and drop stay true when you switch between mm, cm and m.

Review

Clouds and RFIs that travel with the drawing.

Cloud the problem, pull a callout and write the question where it belongs. Blueprint saves standard PDF markups, so whoever you send it to sees them in Bluebeam, Acrobat or Preview. Markups made in Bluebeam come in editable.

Status and replies
Track every RFI from open to closed, with the history kept.
Your file, untouched until you save
Autosave keeps a recovery copy. ⌘S writes the PDF.

Markups List

Every markup, totalled.

Filter, sort and group by subject, layer or page. Export a CSV that opens cleanly in Excel, with numbers as numbers.

The Markups List in Project Blueprint: rows for Concrete, Vinyl, Tiles, Timber floor and Carpet areas with the room in the comments column and square metres in the measurement column, totalling 227.76 square metres.

Built for estimators

The checks you would do by hand, done for you.

Check Takeoff

Finds areas counted twice, measurements on sheets with no scale, and a scale that disagrees with the title block.

Verify Scale

Draw along a dimension line. Blueprint reads the figure beside it and offers the right scale if you are out.

Safe saving

Close asks before it discards anything. Autosave keeps a recovery copy and never writes over your drawing.

Bluebeam and Acrobat markups

Open a marked-up set and edit the comments that came with it. Send it back with yours inside the PDF.

Continuous scrolling

Run through a whole set top to bottom, mixed sheet sizes centred, or stay one page at a time.

Thin Lines and Fade Drawing

Quiet a heavy drawing so your markups stand out. The PDF itself is never changed.

OCR and search

Turn scanned sheets into searchable text on your Mac, then find every “A-201” in the set.

Keyboard first

Familiar Revu page and view keys, single-key tools, ⌘W to close a drawing and Delete on full-size keyboards.

Common questions

Straight answers about Blueprint, Bluebeam and your Mac.

Is Project Blueprint a Bluebeam alternative for Mac?

Yes. Project Blueprint is a native Mac app for the core Bluebeam jobs on construction PDFs: markup, calibrated takeoff and revision review. It is independent software and is not affiliated with Bluebeam, Inc. It does not have Bluebeam Studio's live multi-user sessions.

Can I work with people who use Bluebeam on Windows?

Yes. Markups made in Bluebeam Revu or Acrobat open in Blueprint and can be edited, and Blueprint saves your markups into the PDF so they show in Bluebeam, Acrobat and Preview.

What does it cost?

A one-off licence for two Macs with every 1.x update: US$19 for the first 100 Founder customers, then US$79. There is no subscription.

Which Macs does it run on?

macOS 14 or later, natively on both Apple silicon and Intel Macs.

Can I export quantities to Excel?

Yes. Export the Markup Summary as CSV. It opens in Excel with quantities as numbers, grouped however you set up the Markups List.

Are my drawings uploaded anywhere?

No. Your PDFs stay as ordinary files in your own folders, and text recognition runs on your Mac.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. The 14-day trial includes every feature and needs no card.
